But if you’re like us, your thoughts are now turning to 2023 and what the new year holds. With that in mind, we want to share some of our favorite ways to celebrate the new year in Hillsborough County.
Music and More in Tampa
There is so much to see and do in Tampa and the surrounding area, and New Year’s celebrations are only part of the fun.
This year’s New Year’s Eve party at Armature Works promises to be spectacular. The 5th annual celebration begins at 8:00 pm and ends at midnight with a fireworks display. Enjoy live music and dance the night away. For even more fun, you can upgrade to one of the two VIP experiences being offered this year: Posh Party on the Pier or Champagne Showers on the West Lawn.
If you want to celebrate on the beach, that’s no problem. Whiskey Joe’s is hosting a “classic Beach Bash” with two stages of live music, a ball drop, fireworks and champagne. This party starts at 7 pm, and you can purchase tickets now!
Celebrate with the Whole Family
You can celebrate all day and into the night at Busch Gardens! Ride all the rides, and then in case you haven’t yet had a chance to see Busch Gardens Christmas Town, you can enjoy the lights, shows, and dining. End the fun with a special fireworks show.
Or if animals are your thing, celebrate during the day at ZooTampa. This special daytime celebration will be happening from 10 am to 4 pm.
Stay awhile for rest
Once New Year’s Eve is over, enjoy the new year with rest. January may be the coldest month in the Tampa, Florida, area, but it is still mild with highs in the 70s and evening lows in the upper 40s. You might not want to jump into the bay for a swim – the water is cool – but the weather is perfect for a casual stroll along the beach.
To take advantage of the comfortable temperatures, you can participate in the 2022-23 Hillsborough County Hiking Spree. There are trails for all skill levels along with a variety of settings for you to discover and explore. The Lighthouse Trail at Egmont Key State Park is just over 1 mile. Besides the history of the area, you can enjoy the natural beauty and wildlife.
If you are looking for something a little more urban, dining and shopping choices abound. For example, you can head back to Armature Works for the Heights Public Market. For food lovers, it’s a dream; for everyone else, it just might turn you into a foodie!
If you still haven’t had a chance to visit Busch Garden’s Christmas Town, this year the celebration runs through January 9. Mardi Gras kicks off on January 14 and runs through March 5 at Busch Gardens. This family-friendly event will feature music and entertainment along with delicious Cajun cuisine. And this is only one of the fun events you can find! There is so much to experience in Hillsborough County.
